Description
The Regent 5770-36D is a 5770 Series concealed vertical rod exit device configured for a nominal 36-inch door width in dark bronze anodized finish. Its top and bottom rods operate inside the door stile, keeping the latching components concealed while the push rail provides free egress from the inside.
Concealed Vertical Rod Operation
- A spring-loaded Pullman latch secures the top of the door at the header strike.
- An adjustable bottom bolt secures the lower rod at the threshold.
- The top and bottom rods are driven together by the internal mechanism when the push rail is depressed.
- The 5770 is non-handed and can be installed on left-hand or right-hand doors without modifying the device.
Door and Opening Requirements
The original Regent instructions specify installation on 1-3/4-inch-thick doors. This SKU identifies the nominal device width, but it does not confirm the door height, vertical-rod length, stile profile, backset, or existing preparation. Verify those opening details before ordering.
Outside Trim and Cylinder
The exit device provides egress from the inside. An exterior escutcheon, cylinder, pull, or other outside trim is not included unless specifically stated in the product listing. Select outside hardware separately when entry from the exterior is required.
Installation Considerations
Installation requires accurate stile, header, and threshold preparation. Confirm the device centerline, rod position, top strike, bottom-bolt clearance, and final latch adjustment before drilling. The reconstructed Regent instructions include the original preparation dimensions and installation sequence.
